Delivery-Mileage Dodge Viper GTS-R Final Edition ACR Sold For $402,000

Dodge may have killed off the Viper in 2017, but a pristine example of the GTS-R Final Edition ACR was grabbed for $402,000 in a Bring A Trailer auction. Besides being a limited edition with only 51 miles (82 km) on the odometer, this Viper is also special because of its #001 numbering on the dashboard.

Back in 2017, Dodge celebrated Viper’s 25th anniversary with five special editions. One of those was the GTS-R Final Edition ACR produced in a limited number of 100 units, and it sold out in just two days. All cars were painted in Viper White with blue racing stripes and gloss black 19″ ACR wheels. Courtesy of the Extreme Aero package were carbon-fiber details on the front canards and brake ducts, a large splitter, and a huge rear wing dominating the tail.

All over the cabin, there is black leather and Alcantara upholstery accompanied by red stitching and details. The Sabelt seats provide great lateral support and the #001 numbered plaque on the dashboard proves that this example was the first to roll out of the production line. As you would expect from a 51-mile car, the condition is immaculate and the Viper looks like it just came out of the dealership.

The 8.4-inch touchscreen on the center console looks fairly modern incorporating the Uconnect infotainment, navigation, rear-view camera, and satellite radio while there is also a premium Harman Kardon sound system for audiophiles. Don’t expect a digital instrument cluster though, as the fifth-generation Viper (VX) was unveiled in the distant 2013.

Under the bonnet, the mighty 8.4-liter V10 produces 645 hp (481 kW / 654 PS) and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with the help of a limited-slip differential. All ACR Vipers were fitted with mixed Kumho Ecsta V720 tires (295/25 at the front and 355/30 at the back), and came with a 10-way adjustable suspension and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes.

With an original sticker price of $145,340 back in 2016, this 2017 Viper ACR has obviously appreciated a lot. Judging from the condition of the car and the $402k paid for it, we’d say there’s a strong chance it will remain a garage queen even though it was designed for the track.

Backdated 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.8L Is Here To Reverse Your Piggy Bank’s Fortunes

If you’re in the market for a beautifully-restored classic Porsche 911 but don’t have $500,000 to splash on a car from Singer, this delicious 1989 Carrera 3.8L might do the trick. This particular build is what enthusiasts call a ‘backdated’ Porsche, which entails making a newer model look like an older generation car.

The car is up for sale on Bring A Trailer in California and has undergone a plethora of modifications to bring its key mechanical components into the modern age while at the same time, using styling elements from prior generation 911s. The listing notes that the current owner, who runs Zurlinden Restorations & Developments, has transformed the car into a 911 ST-style tribute.

Adorning much of the interior is dark blue Nappa leather and Sport S bucket seats. Also found within is Alcantara across the dashboard and an aftermarket shifter and three-spoke Mono steering wheel.

Power is provided by a modified flat-six from a Porsche 964 that has been bored to 3.8-liters and has a GT3 rotating assembly with titanium connecting rods, 993 Motorsport cylinder heads and oversized valves, aftermarket throttle bodies, and a new ECU. Mated to the engine is a five-speed manual transaxle that has also been upgraded with new ring and pinion bearings, synchros, and a Wavetrac limited-slip differential.

Some See Art, Others See Crime In This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Art Car

All Porsche 911s are special but the exterior paint finish of this particular 1989 Carrera makes it even more so.

This 911 art car was created as part of the Art Cars Project run by the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec in Canada and is being offered from a dealership in California with an accident-free Carfax report and an Arizona title. Responsible for the unique paint scheme were artist Dominic Besner and collaborator Yves Thibeault.

2K-Mile 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Is An Exhilarating Drive

Sure, the C6-generation Chevrolet Corvette may not have quite the allure of the mid-engined C8, but in ZR1 guise, it is still a superb value proposition for the performance it provides.

The Corvette ZR1 in question is a 2013 model and while it is almost a decade old, it has only been driven 2,000 miles (3,200 km). The car is listed up for auction through Bring A Trailer and was one of 482 ZR1s built for the 2013 model year and one of just 27 finished in Crystal Red Metallic.

Contrasting the red paint are chrome-finished 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels clad in the original 285/30 and 335/25 Michelin Pilot Sport tires respectively. The car also rocks a carbon fiber hood, roof, fenders, floor panels, side skirts, and front splitter.

A peek inside the cabin reveals Cashmere leather on the center of the seats and across parts of the dashboard and door panels. The ‘Vette also features various black leather components and is equipped with the 3ZR Premium Equipment Group that includes power-adjustable and heated sport seats, a memory package, Bose audio, navigation, Bluetooth, dual-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, and cruise control.

Powering the C6 Corvette ZR1 is a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 pumping out 638 hp and 604 lb-ft (819 Nm) of torque that’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.

Porsche Taycan 4S Art Car Heading To Auction Next Month

Porsche will soon auction off a special Taycan 4S art car and the proceeds will benefit Swiss non-profit Suisseculture Sociale to support local artists in the country who have struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The man behind the Taycan Art Car, which actually came to life at a pop-up restaurant in Zurich last December, is Richard Phillips. Adorning the exterior of the EV is a custom wrap based on the artist’s ‘Queen of the Night’ 2010 painting that’s dominated by brightly-colored flowers, a blue sky, and butterflies.

A handful of other custom touches were made. For example, there is an illuminated inscription of ‘Queen of the Night’ on the door sill panels thanks to Porsche Exclusive, and an illuminated version of Richard Phillip’s signature that is projected onto the pavement.

The car has been on display at various Porsche Centers in Switzerland in recent weeks and is currently on display at Porsche Center Geneva. On March 22, it will be moved to Porsche Center Zurich and will later be displayed at Porsche Center Zug, south of Zurich, where it will be handed over to the winning bidder.

“Porsche’s first purely electric sports car, the Taycan, represents a new chapter in the company’s history,” Porsche Schweiz AG chief executive Michael Glinski said. “We wanted to capture this achievement by working together with a leading artist. The result is this creation, which reflects the guiding principles of sustainability and electromobility and of course also places a strong focus on nature in Switzerland.”

“By auctioning the work and donating the proceeds we want to help the Swiss cultural landscape, which has been hit especially hard by the pandemic. Porsche has set a confident course through this crisis and we are eager to give something back to the community.”

Would You Buy An E39-Gen BMW M5 With 134K Miles On The Odo?

The latest-generation BMW M5 complete with over 600 hp is a very special thing, but in reality, you can hardly ever use that much power on the street. That’s where an older generation M5 like this E39 comes into its own.

Rather than using an almighty V8 with two turbochargers, the E39 M5 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.9-liter S62 V8 that delivered 394 hp and 368 lb-ft (499 Nm) of torque. Those are perhaps the perfect figures for a vehicle of this sort and adding to the desirability of the car is the fact that it has a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Watch Also: Yes, This Is An E39 BMW 530d Pickup Truck Conversion

This particular 2003 M5 is currently available through Bring A Trailer and has 134,000 miles (~215,000 km) on the clock. That’s a lot and maintaining the car could be quite expensive. However, if you have a good relationship with a local mechanic that can help you out or better yet, have some repair skills of your own, maintaining an M5 like this doesn’t have to break the bank.

The listing reveals the car was first registered in Illinois and acquired by the selling dealer in March 2020 having previously spent time in Texas, Arkansas, and Utah. It is being sold without a reserve, with a Carfax report and with a clean Georgia title.

Inside, things look to have been well maintained. Sure, the black leather seats have some cracks in them but that is to be expected. Among the nice touches include an Alcantara headliner, power-adjustable and heated front seats with a memory function, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a navigation system.

Looking For A Blue Unicorn? Here’s A 1996 Audi S6 Plus, The One With The V8

Back in 1997, Audi retired the C4 generation of the A6, after only four years of production, but not before releasing the hottest model of the series, the S6 Plus.

Made in the final two years of production, 952 units saw the light of day, including 855 Avants (estate) and 97 sedans. The limited production number made it a true automotive unicorn, especially in the four-door body style, but this wasn’t the only highlight.

In fact, you had to pop the hood in order to see the icing on the cake, the 4.2-liter DOHC V8, with 32 valves, which replaced the 2.2-liter five-pot powering the standard S6. The engine produced 322 HP (326 PS / 240 kW), 95 HP (96 PS / 71 kW) more than the smaller lump, for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) of 5.6 seconds (5.7 seconds for the Avant).

Other highlights included the upgraded six-speed manual transmission, re-tuned suspension and bigger brakes, joined by the leather and Alcantara upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats with memory, electric sunroof and integrated phone.

This 24-year old S6 Plus was apparently gifted to Spanish newspaper El Mundo, in return for advertising space, and was used by the former CEO, before being sold to the Marquees of Antella. In the possession of its new owner, the car was repainted in Nogaro Blue, the original color, and the engine was rebuilt.

You already know where this is going, so we’ll cut to the chase by telling you that RMSothebys estimates that it will fetch between €40,000 and €60,000 ($43,853-$65,779). It will be offered without reserve at an online auction that kicks off on June 3 at 1:00 p.m. CET (7:00 a.m. EST) in Essen, Germany.
